Darlington Dragway
2017 General Rules

1. Tech Card: Every driver must fill out a tech card completely and legibly with the appropriate information and the correct car number. A driver can enter more than one class, but may not double enter in the same class.

2. Permanent Numbers: Each driver must have a car number (x number if running IHRA points) in a clear visible position on the rear windshield and driver side window. Dial-ins must also be clear and in the same positions.

3. Tech Inspection: All vehicles must be teched in before being allowed to go down the track. Tech will be performed according to IHRA rules and standards.

4. Wristbands: All drivers and crew members must obtain proper wristbands. If a driver is seen not wearing a wristband, they will not be able to make a pass until one is present. Crew members assisting race vehicles must obtain a wristband to enter the restricted race area.

5. Lane Choice: If more than one drive prefers the same lane, a Darlington Official will draw cards to determine lane choice. The drive who receives the higher card will have lane choice for that round.

6. Dial In: Dial-in must be displayed clearly for the Darlington Official to see on the driverís side as well as the back windshield of the car. Once a drive has passed the bold white line at the head of staging, the dial-in of that car cannot be changed. Once a driver has pre-staged their vehicle, that driver has accepted their dial-in. The track is NOT responsible for incorrect dial-ins.

7. Staging Lanes: All cars are expected to be prompt and in their correct lane assignment. If a car that is in the staging lanes experiences and issue, they will have 4 minutes to get the car fixed. If the car is not fixable, the competitor will run the next car in line unless on a ladder.

8. Staging: All drivers must courtesy stage when on the starting line. If a Jr. Dragster double bulbs or roles through the lights, a Darlington Official will pull them back. The Jr. Dragster can only be pulled back one time per round.
9. Buy Backs: Each driver will be able to buy back, if offered, and receive points.

10. Buy Runs: Bye runs will be determined by best reaction time in previous time trial or elimination round. Each racer can only have one bye run until the point everyone else has had one. In an event there is an even number of vehicles and you have to run someone, you will get lane choice. Bye runs do not carry over but you will still be eligible to receive an earned bye in a later round.

11. Ladders: At 8 cars, drivers will be placed on a ladder based on reaction time. The driver with the best reaction time of the pair will have lane choice.

12. Electronics: Note: The penalty for intentional non-compliance (decided by track operator) will result in a 1 year suspension from all competition racing for that driver at Darlington Dragway. **See your class specifics for detailed descriptions of electronics allowed**
